Staging

Moving to one of most exciting parts of branding is staging the product in the window. This put my staging and composition skills to the test. Before doing any staging I created a mood board for what vibe and idea I wanted to head towards. I really liked the nature and garden vibes linking back to the garden soundtrack I made in the beginning of the project. I found this really helpful to lay out my ideas in my head onto paper before trying to think about how I want to stage my product.

I got the idea of making a mood board from the graphic designer I watch on YouTube Kel Lauren. They often create a mood board before desiring any logo I did the same applying it to staging and window displays. Before I could think about staging I had to think realistically, mainly about what I can show being:

1 perfume bottle
Boxes
Fabric?
Fake plants
Packaging I made

From this I started thinking about where to place things as showed in my sketchbook. I originally was going to present my work on a plinth but remembered there were these beautiful glass displays in the corridor that I walk past everyday. I was able to use on the displays to showcase my work. I think this turned out for the better, since it simulated a store window rather than an art exhibition. In the glass display I tried several different layouts. I ended up ditching the acrylic box since it gave too much height difference to the perfume bottle. The boxes I painted black did a better job at giving the perfume height to highlight it without creating too much height between the bag and the perfume bottle.
